From the classrooms Vallejo, California to Niger and Benin, West Africa and finally to Los Angeles, California, Rickey Onadja has spent over 30 years educating, mentoring, and inspiring others. A former U.S. Peace Corps volunteer, Fulbright Teaching Exchange participant, and lifelong advocate for education as the great equalizer, Rickey has always believed in using her voice to empower and uplift.
Her debut children’s series, the Pet Rescue Series, is a heartfelt extension of her passions: storytelling, cultural diversity, and animal welfare. Inspired by her own rescues—including Juneau the husky—Rickey’s books encourage young readers to see the world through compassionate eyes.
